Signed App Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 16, 2026
This policy explains what the Signed mobile app (the companion app for Signed: The Student-Athlete Recruiting Playbook) does with your information. We wrote it in plain English. The short version: what you type into Signed stays on your phone. We don't have accounts, we don't run ads, and we don't track you.
"We," "us," and "our" mean Stephen Wright, the publisher of Signed. Signed is an independent product. It is not affiliated with RecruitReel, the NCAA, the NAIA, the NJCAA, or any college.
1. What stays on your device
Everything you enter in the app is saved only in the app's storage on your phone or tablet. That includes:
- Your athlete profile (name, sport, position, jersey number, height, weight, GPA, test scores, NCAA ID, stats, awards, service, coach reference, highlight link, and any NCSA, FieldLevel, or SportsRecruits profile links)
- Your target schools, coach names and contact details, contact log, notes, and offer details
- To-dos, reminders, roadmap checklists, testing results, and camp logs
- Whether you have unlocked the full app
We never receive this information. It is not sent to us or to any server we run. We cannot see it, back it up, or recover it. If you delete the app, or use Me → Erase data, it is gone.
Your phone's own backup (for example iCloud or Google device backup) may include app data, depending on your phone settings. That backup is handled by Apple or Google under their privacy policies, not by us.
2. When information leaves your device
Information leaves your device only in these cases:
a) When you share or export it yourself. If you tap Share, Copy, Open in email app, or export your one-pager as a PDF, the content goes wherever you choose to send it (your email app, messages, a coach, etc.). A QR code on your one-pager contains the link or text you chose. What happens after you send it is up to you and the app or person you sent it to.
b) When you buy Full Unlock in the app. Purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see your payment card or billing details. We use RevenueCat, a purchase-management service, to confirm your purchase and restore it on a new device. To do this, RevenueCat receives purchase information from the app and the store, such as an anonymous app user ID it creates, the product purchased, the purchase receipt or transaction details, and basic device and app information (for example, device type, operating system, app version, country/region, and IP address). This is not linked to your name or to anything you type in the app. See RevenueCat's privacy policy, Apple's privacy policy, and Google's privacy policy.
c) When you enter a playbook code. Some codes are checked entirely on your device. Other codes (license keys from a playbook purchase) are checked by a small server script we run on Cloudflare Workers. The app sends only the code you typed. Our script asks our store provider, Payhip, whether the code is valid and has not been refunded, and counts how many times the code has been activated (each code works on a limited number of devices). The app does not send your name, email, profile, or any other data. As with any internet connection, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver the request. We do not store IP addresses or keep a log of code checks ourselves. Payhip already has the purchase record (including the buyer's email) from when the playbook was bought; the app does not send or receive that email. See Cloudflare's privacy policy and Payhip's privacy policy.
3. Notifications
Reminders (to-dos, key dates, coach follow-ups, offer deadlines) are local notifications. Your phone schedules and shows them itself. There is no push-notification server, and we don't receive the reminder content. You can turn notifications off at any time in your phone's settings.
4. What we don't do
- No accounts or sign-in
- No advertising, ad IDs, or ad networks
- No analytics or tracking across apps or websites
- No location, contacts, camera, microphone, or photo access
- We don't sell or share personal information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising
5. Children and teens
Signed is made for high school athletes and their families. Many users will be under 18.
- The app is intended for users 13 and older. It is not directed to children under 13. Younger athletes should use it with a parent or guardian.
- Because the information you enter stays on your device and is never sent to us, we do not collect personal information from children (or anyone) through the app's features. The only data that leaves the device is described in Section 2 (store purchases, which Apple or Google handle under their own family and age rules, and playbook codes).
- In-app purchases are handled by Apple and Google, whose parental controls (such as Ask to Buy and Google Family Link purchase approvals) apply.
- Parents and guardians: you can review everything your athlete has entered by opening the app on their device, and you can delete it with Me → Erase data or by deleting the app. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information (for example, by emailing us), contact us and we will delete it.
6. Emailing us
If you email us at signedplaybook@gmail.com, we will receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply to you, and we delete it when it is no longer needed. Please don't email sensitive information about a minor unless it's necessary.
7. Your choices and rights
Since we don't hold your app data, you control it directly: edit or delete it in the app, or delete the app. For data held by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Cloudflare, or Payhip, you can also use the privacy tools those companies provide. If you live in a place with privacy laws (such as California or the EU/UK) and want to ask about access or deletion, email us and we will help, including asking our service providers to act where we can.
8. Security
Your data is protected by your device's own security (passcode, Face ID, fingerprint). Keep your device locked. Code checks are sent over encrypted HTTPS connections. Payhip secret keys are kept on our server script, never in the app.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update it here and change the effective date. If a change means the app starts collecting new information, we will tell you in the app before it happens.
